This site is a tribute to Jan, who was born in London on 19th September 1950. She died in late March of this year after a brave and stoic fight against a rare subtype of lung cancer. A talented and clever biochemist, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend to many, she was a warm, witty and brilliant person who left us too soon. She was treated at the world class Royal Marsden cancer hospital in Sutton, where in recent years they've opened a Maggie's Centre. Maggie's centres are havens of information, support and respite with a distinctly non-clinical feel, set up to provide help, practical advice and a pleasant place to go for cancer patients and their families. Jan was so impressed with Maggies, so we'd love for you to donate so they can keep their fantastic work going.
